Youth Nationals 2020 Rescheduled for October

July 15, 2020

THIS ARTICLE HAS BEEN EDITED TO REFLECT UPDATED EVENT INFORMATION.

While planning Youth Nationals, UKC, the Appalachian Coon Hunters, and Buckhannon Coonhunters Association have all been continually monitored the health situation, guidelines, and restrictions in West Virginia related to the COVID-19 outbreak. As with any event across the country right now, it is required to remain in accordance with the CDC's social distancing guidelines and in adherence with local mandates to make it as safe as possible. On July 14 at 12:01 a.m., even stricter guidelines for the state of West Virginia were put in place.

Due to the strict stipulations putting an event of this size outside of the allowable threshold, United Kennel Club has officially made the difficult decision to reschedule the Youth Nationals from July 24 & 25, 2020 in Flatwoods, West Virginia to October 24, 2020. It will be a one-day event.

Youth Nationals has been an annual event since 2001 where $10,000 in scholarships are awarded to hardworking and deserving youth.

Guided by the belief that dogs make a difference by being the best partner a human can have in the field, on the job, or in a competition event, UKC is a community for people and dogs to pursue excellence together. Founded in 1898, UKC has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of Dogs That Do More, and their owners, by providing essential resources to help owners and breeders make informed decisions. The dog-human bond is celebrated through family-friendly programs highlighting the instincts and heritage of purebred and mixed-breed dogs alike at over 15,000 licensed events annually.
