UKC Donates to Downed Officer

Donation to benefit family of Richmond Police K9 Officer Seara Burton

September 2, 2022

In the 124-year history of United Kennel Club, there have been very few communities that have had a larger role in the success of an event as Richmond, Indiana for our annual Autumn Oaks event.

Our coonhunters make the Labor Day pilgrimage to Richmond every year, and its a second home to us and the coonhound family. Family and friends come to support each other throughout the event, and its an annual reunion for everyone.

We are saddened to hear the news of Richmond Police K9 Officer, Seara Burton.

Just as the city of Richmond has opened its doors and hunting lands to us to show their support to us, we want to show our support for Richmond and K9 Officer Seara Burton. On behalf of UKC and the Coonhound family, we are sending a $10,000 donation to support Officer Burtons family.

Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Officer Burton.

Guided by the belief that dogs make a difference by being the best partner a human can have in the field, on the job, or in a competition event, UKC is a community for people and dogs to pursue excellence together. Founded in 1898, UKC has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of Dogs That Do More, and their owners, by providing essential resources to help owners and breeders make informed decisions. The dog-human bond is celebrated through family-friendly programs highlighting the instincts and heritage of purebred and mixed-breed dogs alike at over 18,000 licensed events annually.
