Announcing the UKC Ambassador of the Year Program!
Presented by Eukanuba
September 16, 2024
We're about two months away from the fourth annual UKC Total Dog Invitational, and we've got an exciting new honor to announce which will surround this years event.
This year, at our awards dinner on Saturday evening, we will be announcing our Ambassador of the Year, Presented by Eukanuba!
The Ambassador of the Year award will be given to a handler who best embodies the United Kennel Club spirit and the values of the Total Dog philosophy, which has been upheld by UKC since its inception in 1898. A Total Dog displays equal parts Function, Temperament, and Structure, and the Total Dog Invitational was created in 2021 to showcase those dogs who perform equally well in the show ring as in performance sports, and to represent the pinnacle of Dogs That Do More™.
Here's how it will work:
- Over the next few weeks, owners will enter their qualified dogs in the Total Dog Invitational--entries open today, September 16, and will close on Monday, October 14.
- After entries close, we will unveil the complete list of nominees for the Ambassador of the Year award, Presented by Eukanuba, which will be narrowed to four by a public vote. Voting will begin on Wednesday, October 16, and will close on Wednesday, November 6.
- The top four vote getters will be revealed to the exhibitors at the Total Dog Invitational, where attendees will cast their final votes to determine the Ambassador of the Year, Presented by Eukanuba.
The winner will receive a commemorative trophy and twelve bags of dog food from Eukanuba.
Guided by the belief that dogs make a difference by being the best partner a human can have in the field, on the job, or in a competition event, UKC is a community for people and dogs to pursue excellence together. Founded in 1898, UKC has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of Dogs That Do More, and their owners, by providing essential resources to help owners and breeders make informed decisions. The dog-human bond is celebrated through family-friendly programs highlighting the instincts and heritage of purebred and mixed-breed dogs alike at over 18,000 licensed events annually.
