UKC Announces Separation of Cur/Feist Program into Two Divisions!

Effective January 1, 2017

Kalamazoo, Mich., December 28, 2016 The United Kennel Club is pleased to announce the separation of the Cur and Feist program into two separate divisions, effective January 1, 2017.

The existing, combined program will become two separate and distinct divisions: a Cur Program and a Feist Program. Each newly-specialized division will continue to operate with all the current offerings, registrations and performance events but will be geared toward the specific dogs in each. This separation is designed to allow further growth and autonomy of each of the programs. While the goals of each program are and will remain similar, there are many differences in the types of dogs that are serviced by each event format.

Clubs will have the option to run a Cur only event or a Feist only event. A club can choose to hold both, but the Cur and Feist will hunt separately (just like they will in the upcoming 2017 Squirrel Dog World). Additional changes concerning single and litter registration, breed recognition, and event rules and policy details are forthcoming.

The UKC Field Operations Department is excited to bring you this format change, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for these programs!
