Judge Of The Year Nominee

  • Darcey Greiger

Darcey had 9 total assignments last quarter, earning her the first quarter nomination for Judge of the Year. Darceys name should be a familiar one to the nomination list with her multi-year streak and now with back-to-back first quarter nominations. If last year is any predictor, she may be taking home yet another Judge of the Year award. Judging takes such a big time and physical commitment by individuals to donate their weekend to a club logging countless miles on their shoes AND cars so that our competitors can run their dogs. Dont forget to thank all of your judges for what they do!

Club Of The Year Nominee

  • Southeast Michigan Shed Dogs

This club averaged over 50 dogs a day, for anyone who has attended the first few Shed Dog Nationals, you know what a feat that is. Congratulations to Southeast Michigan Shed Dogs for earning this quarters nomination for club of the year.

I would also like to give an Honorable Mention to one of our clubs from the far north. Georgian Bay Shed Dogs is one of our Canadian clubs, and managed to have the highest total event entries for a non-DOY event during their three-day event.

Youth Handler Of The Year Nominee

  • Emery Bianchin, with RPM's Quinnin All the Time

This quarter's nominations are starting to look like our Season 7 winners took last year's momentum and kept it rolling! Emery was your Season 7 Youth Handler of the Year winner, and came out strong this season. In just three events, this youth handler has accumulated just over 33 points, with a respectable 11 point lead on the next handler. It is still early in the season and it's anyone's game, but Ms. Emery is off to a great start! Congratulations on your Youth Handler of the Year nomination!

Ambassador Of The Year Nominee

The ambassador of the year is a unique award because there is no metric used to calculate who was the most involved or helpful over the past three months. If somehow, we did quantify this award, we would have a tie between countless people every quarter. This sport is driven forward by the welcoming, respectful, and helpful nature of all the participants. Ambassadors and nominees, past, present, and future should hold themselves to a higher standard and be role models for new and existing members.

  • Heather Bolen

Heather has been heavily nominated by the sport for Ambassador of the Year. She has been recognized for her efforts helping clubs with everything from logistics to paperwork, and is also a huge supporter to the youth side of the sport as a judge and cheerleader. Her time and effort have not gone unnoticed. Congratulations to Heather Bolen for her nomination!
