Skip the Mail!
You can now transfer dog ownership online
November 13, 2024
Starting now, UKC accepts online ownership transfers, so you can skip the mail and complete everything on the UKC website! This new, streamlined system makes transferring ownership faster and easier than ever, replacing the old process that required mailing in physical paperwork.
What is an Ownership Transfer?
An ownership transfer occurs when a dog changes hands (such as when an adult dog is sold or a puppy is permanently registered). UKC officially documents this change and issues a new Certificate of Registration with Pedigree to the new owner.
With the new online system, you no longer need to mail in paperwork to initiate this process. Simply use the online form to update the dog's ownership and have it processed officially in UKC's records. Once submitted and after processing, you will receive the updated Certificate of Ownership and Pedigree by mail.
How It Works:
- Start the online ownership transfer application on the UKC website.
- Upload two photos (front and back) of the signed UKC Transfer Application or UKC Puppy Application from the seller or breeder.
- Choose from available upgrades, including metallic details, Display Pedigrees, accelerated shipping, and more.
- Submit your application, and UKC will process the ownership update.
- You will your new Certificate of Ownership and Pedigree by mail.
It's That Easy!
By completing the transfer, you not only update the ownership records, but also unlock exclusive UKC registration benefits, gain access to events, and keep your dog's pedigree information up to date. It's the easiest way to secure your place as the official owner and enjoy all the advantages of being UKC-registered. If you've been meaning to send in paperwork, now is the time -use the online form today!
