UKC Elite Shed Dog Series Dog of the Year presented by Bone Clone
Congratulations to Ed Norys and CHSD Nory's Dallas for being named UKC Elite Shed Dog Series Dog Of The Year for Season 1. The close of the season remained as competitive as the start. Most of our front runners attended the final events and added to their point totals. One dog from the middle of the pack had a great weekend to break into our top four. And a newcomer to the events burst onto the scene to finish just outside of Finalist status.
Ed and Dallas held off some late charges to maintain their lead and capture the history making honors of our first ESDS Dog Of The Year. This team was well represented all season supporting clubs around the country with more than just entries. Their display of sportsmanship and willingness to help event hosts with judging or anything else that needed to be done has set the bar very high for those who will follow. United Kennel Club and Bone Clone offer our most sincere congratulations to Ed and his family for their great season with CHSD Nory's Dallas.
Jason Rezin captures second and third place finishes and Finalist honors with his father/son duo of CHSD Antler Ridge Ransom and CHSD Scuba Steve From Foxie Rannie. Jason was off to a great start with placements at the first event of the season and never took his foot off the gas chasing Ed and Dallas right up until the end. Not only do those two male Labs look alike, but they also share a consistency to finish high on any given weekend. An outstanding effort on behalf of this Wisconsin team that proved to be respected competitors.
Ransom, second place. Owned by Joe Rezin.
Scuba Steve, third place. Owned by Joe Rezin.
Joe Johnson held a finalist position throughout the season but ended up knocking out his own early leader with a strong late finish by her kennelmate. CHSD HR Antler Ridge Cowgirl Rides Away (Denver) finishes just out of Finalist status while CHSD AR Black Barrel Whiskey rocketed up the charts with a strong spring season. It should be noted that Denver was also taxed with whelping a litter of puppies during the season, whereas Whiskey was not! Congratulations on a Finalist finish for Whiskey and a strong yearlong showing by Denver.
Whiskey, owned by Joe Johnson.
An honorable mention is well-deserved for Gideon Fuchs and his female Sadie Belle Fuchs. Back-to-back wins of the largest Champion class entries of the year found them finishing just four points out of a Finalist position. If they can put together a similar start to season two, all we can say is look out, everyone.
Sadie, owned by Gideon Fuchs.
