With six events from March in the books, our DOY standings have quite a different look since our last update.
Ed Norys' Lab female, Dallas, had a heck of month picking up two 1sts, two 3rds, and a 4th in those six events against stiff competition. More than one Judge has reported that when this female is on, they havent seen anything like her. Though she has yet to have a mathematical lock on the race, she has put herself into position as the one to beat.

Black Lab male, Whiskey, owned by Joe Johnson, came out of nowhere to capture two first place finishes for a total of 30 points that shot him into the mix of the next-tier of contenders.
Yellow Lab male, Ransom, also had an impressive month for owner Jason Rezin, showing consistency by placing three times out of the four events in which he ran. Autumn, Rudy and Denver were also multiple placement dogs which helped their cause significantly. With just five events left to contend in season one, it will be an interesting month of April.

Season one awards for both Dog Of The Year and Youth Handler Of The Year are slated to be awarded at the Michigan Shed Dog event, May 12 & 13 in Delton, Michigan, first thing that Saturday morning. View Calendar. We hope that all winners and finalists will be able to attend but will understandably make arrangements for prizes should that not be the case. In the future, DOY and YOY awards will be presented at the UKC Elite Shed Dog Series National Championship. In the coming weeks, we will also be announcing some changes to the format of the Season 2 Elite Shed Dog Series Dog Of The Year and Youth Handler Of The Year programs presented by Bone Clone.
It should be noted that Championship points from March events have not all been processed and may not be reflected in the Championship designations featured in this update.
