UKC is pleased to report the growth of the Bloodlines Listing Service.

Did you know?
Since early 2024, UKC accepts Hollandse, Mechelse, and Duitsh Herders, among others (see list below) through the Bloodlines Listing Service! Owners of the above breeds may contact UKC for inclusion in UKC's Bloodlines Listing Service. Launched in early 2024, Bloodlines is an ancestry recording service for breeders which is kept separate from the main UKC registry.

Bloodlines Listing Service is brought to you by UKC. It is a lineage building and recording service allowing owners to record their dog's ancestry and receive a printed certificate detailing the information the owner has submitted.

• The above breeds (Hollandse, Mechelse, and Duitsh Herder) are permitted to continue to interbreed, which is customary for these specific breeds in creating the desired traits and characteristics for their jobs.
• If any Belgian, Dutch, or GSD purebreds are used in breeding for the above types, the resulting progeny would fall under the Hollandse, Mechelse, or Duitsh Herders as appropriate.
• Other dogs eligible for Bloodlines Listing and permitted to breed only within their own type include: the American Exhibition Bully, Armenian Gampr, Phu Quoc Ridgeback, Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka, and the Yakutian Laika. More to be added in 2025!

FAQ'S

Will my dog be UKC Registered? Bloodlines Listing Service is kept separate from the main UKC registry records. These dogs are not eligible for conformation.

Can I receive organizational assistance and help with litter records? Litter registration is permitted for pre-approved types only (such as those listed above). If your dog is recorded as Unrecognized (or "UNR"), no litters may be registered from your dog.

How is this different from regular UKC registration? On a case by case basis, new or previously unrecognized breeds (such as those above) are granted admission to begin their lineage journey. Many of these dogs have generations of known breeding behind them but have not otherwise been allowed into existing studbooks. The newly accepted breeds are provided registry record keeping support to more fully organize their lineage.

Will we ever receive full rights and be allowed into the main studbook? Expanded rights and privileges may be granted, in UKC's sole discretion, for select breeds after initial acceptance and with the support of a well-established breed club. Determining factors include but are not limited to the trajectory of the breed's development, organization at the breed level, and available gene pool.
